With a Horticulture and Landscaping Specialist High Skills Major, students focus on a career path to match their skills and interests in this sector. By making courses more relevant to students, kids get a better understanding of the Horticulture and Landscaping sector because they learn it in a real world environment.  Students learn on the job with employers through Co-op and Experiential Learning opportunities, as well as in school.  At graduation they receive a specially designated diploma.

Regional Horticulture SHSM

Students are selected from the various schools throughout the DSBN to spend a semester at our SHSM Regional Centre, in our Greenhouses, participating in our innovative SHSM Regional Horticulture Program. Students will have the opportunity to explore aquaponics, aeroponics, farm to table practices, experimental greenhouses and much more. 

Travel to and from the SHSM Regional Centre is the responsibility of each student.

Once the semester is over students return to their home schools to complete the other required courses to achieve their Horticulture SHSM.
